Outreach Specialist

As an Outreach Specialist, you will engage in outreach missions to distribute essential resources such as food, clothing, and hygiene supplies, while helping individuals access long-term care and services like Medicaid, housing, and transportation. You will be trained by licensed medical professional in basic first aid skills such as taking vital signs (blood pressure, oxygen levels, heart rate, and temperature) and what they imply. Furthermore, you will be trained in psychological counseling skills and motivational interviewing, (a skill commonly used by psychologists to help people improve their mental health). Volunteers will learn common medical pathologies and psychopathologies and how to wrap injuries, administer Narcan, and more. Your role is crucial in connecting those in need with the resources to achieve stability and improve their quality of life.

Research Team

By joining the research team at Valliant Foundation, Research Associates will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of scientific research, including conducting preliminary research, editing proposals, and analyzing data. Associates will spend up to one hour per week on these tasks, and their contributions will be recognized with their names published on final research papers, as well as letters of recommendation for graduate school. This role offers a unique opportunity to explore the root causes of homelessness through ethical fieldwork, focusing on socioeconomic factors and evaluating the effectiveness of current assistance programs, all while having their ideas and insights valued as part of a collaborative team.

Financial Team

By volunteering for the financial team at Valliant Foundation, individuals will gain valuable experience in nonprofit financial management, including budgeting, tracking incoming and outgoing funds, and ensuring compliance with regulations specific to charities and nonprofits. We are looking to fill the role of Chief Financial Officer, who will spend less than 4 hours per week overseeing the financial operations and leading the team. Additionally, we seek multiple Financial Associates who will work on specific tasks, dedicating less than 1 hour per week to support our mission. This opportunity allows volunteers to develop essential skills in financial oversight, teamwork, and regulatory compliance within the nonprofit sector.

Media Team

By volunteering for the media team at Valliant Foundation, individuals will gain hands-on experience in managing various aspects of media relations, including social media, news publicity, and website management. Project Managers will spend about 4 hours per week leading media initiatives, such as managing social media platforms and coordinating with news outlets for publicity, while Media Associates will dedicate up to one hour per week assisting with these tasks. This experience offers a unique opportunity to develop skills in media strategy, content creation, and team leadership, all while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Business Logistics Team

By joining the Business Logistics team at Valliant Foundation, Associates will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of operational management, including coordinating outreach efforts, organizing events, and optimizing resource allocation. Associates will spend up to one hour per week on these tasks, and their contributions will be recognized  as well as letters of recommendation for graduate school. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop essential business and logistical skills in a nonprofit setting, all while having their ideas and insights valued as part of a collaborative team.

Data Engineering Team

By joining the Data Engineering team at Valliant Foundation, Associates will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of data management, including developing data pipelines, integrating new technologies, and analyzing program metrics. Associates will spend up to one hour per week on these tasks, and their contributions will be recognized with their names published on final project reports, as well as letters of recommendation for graduate school.
